But actually, perhaps someone has some advice for me about what happened? I'v never dropped or damaged my camera, I'v always been quite gentle with it, but two days ago it just didn't turn on. I charged the battery fully and even checked with someone else's battery (that worked in their 400D) and still nothing. No sensor cleaning, no sign of life at all. Is there some glitch perhaps that will keep it from turning on? A dirty port? A loose screw? A broken memory card?
On top of this I have a problem with my warranty. I bought my camera from an authorized Canon dealer in the Netherlands, 1.5 years ago (so the 1 yr Canon warranty is obviously expired), but I bought another warranty on top of that with the store. But a year ago the store went out of business, and according to another camera store near it, the warranty cannot be honored because it was a warranty backed only by the store and not a third party. I don't know anything about Dutch law, but I know in the U.S., it is required to honor warranties always.
So, this is the situation. If anyone has any information or advice for me to get my camera fixed, I would be most grateful!
